These two girls are both former rescue dogs, their family supports rescues in many ways and that is how they found me. I donated a gift certificate to HSCI (Humane Society of Central Illinois) for their annual dinner and silent auction and Daisy & Lizzy's family won the silent auction for a session with me.
We scheduled a morning session to try and beat the heat but it was still pretty warm, as you can tell from some of the photos Daisy opted to take a quick dip in the pool. I'm still disappointed I didn't catch a photo of that, and of course refused to fully get in the pool again.
Daisy is a big, cuddly and sweet girl, that even greeted me at the door with kisses. She was adopted from a shelter as a pup and has had a very good life and it shows in her personality.
Lizzy is the baby of the house. She is super sweet like her adoptive sister, but Lizzy is deaf. She was born this way and really has no clue there is anything different about her from anyone else. She is very smart and knows sign language commands. I remember Lizzy when she was being fostered through Wish Bone Canine Rescue by a friend of mine. She had such a great personality, everyone loved her.
Both of these girls really found a great home and it is always truly special to see a dog I met in rescue after they have been with their family for a little while. To see them once they have really found their place in the world...one that loves them, cares for them and makes them feel confident, means so much and makes me happy to donate my time with organizations doing great things to help rescue animals.
