Angel Sallade of Angel Sallade Pet Photography is honored by peers and jurors for high-quality photography.

Normal, Illinois – Angel Sallade of Angel Sallade Pet Photography in Normal, Illinois was named a Bronze Medalist during Professional Photographers of America's 2017 International Photographic Competition. Sallade's work will be on display at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, Jan. 14-16, 2018. This International Photographic Exhibit is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention and expo for professional photographers.
A panel of 33 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from nearly 5,800 total submitted entries at Gwinnett Technical College in Georgia. Judged against a standard of excellence, 2,660 images were selected for the General Collection and 644 (roughly 11 percent) were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection—the best of the best. The Loan Collection images will all be published in the much-anticipated "Loan Collection" book and over 200 selected General Collection images will be published in the "Showcase" book by Marathon Press.
The level of the award is determined by how many of those four images receive the highest possible honor: acceptance into the PPA Loan Collection, which is displayed at photographic exhibitions, conventions and other photography events. Sallade was named a Bronze Medalist by earning a merit—a mark of quality and honor—for each of the four images included in her entry case to the International Photographic Competition. This is the most prestigious competition of its kind, where images are judged based on a standard of artistic excellence, not against each other. In 2017, she was one of only 152 Bronze Medalists.

From Angel: Thank you to my mentor Barbara for your guidance my first year. I will always owe you so much for your support and friendship. To my family and clients for your support again this year through competition season.

The sole reason I compete is to learn and grow as a photographer for my clients. I am thrilled to have accomplished so much in these two years of competition. I medaled for my second year and have 3 out of 4 of my images make the Showcase Book at International Photographic Competition along side so many of my peers and fellow pet photographers. At North Central Districts, my image of Ivy the horse- "Majestic Beauty" took First Place Animal Portrait and I also managed to place in the top ten cased. I have to say all in all it's been a pretty great print competition year. I am looking forward to what the rest of 2017 holds for us and what 2018 print competition has in store. I'm looking forward to taking my judges critiques and applying that knowledge towards next years case.

Thank you again for your continued support,

Angel

Cash- The Mini-Labradoodle Pup http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2017/4/cash--the-mini-labradoodle-pup I love puppies- watching them grow and form their bond with their humans. This little guy named Cash is no exception. I first met Cash in late winter last year, when he was just 16 weeks old. His Mom and Dad wanted to make sure to capture his first year so we start working on it.

Cash was such a curious and inquisitive little guy at his first session. However he still managed to mind his manners and listen to Mom and Dad. We did have to allow for a puppy break from time to time to sniff and play. I have to say though, all in all Cash did so great for his first session. I was so impressed at how well mannered he was.

At our first sign of Spring here in Illinois, Cash made the journey back down from the city to see me again. I couldn't get over how much he had matured. It had only been three months!

Cash was still handsome as ever. Mom and Dad had been working on his manners even more and it truly showed. When it came to being in the studio he seemed to remember being here and what he was doing. Cash was like an old pro. :)

Cash really enjoyed the outdoor part of the adventure this time. The warmer weather, the people outside- Cash is a social guy and likes to say hello to everyone he meets.

Cash's bond with his Mom and Dad keeps growing and getting stronger. You can see the love and admiration he has for them both.

I am looking forward to the rest of Cash's sessions. He and his parents are always such a pleasure to work with. Puppy sessions are such an honor to capture because I get to be a part of the formative first year, watching and capturing the development of your puppies growth and bond.

What This Means To Me... http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2017/1/what-this-means-to-me It's that time of year that I am creating my annual goals and doing a lot of reflecting. Part of that reflecting is truly looking at how far I have come, why I do this, what I am providing my clients and how can better the service I provide my clients.

One thing I admit is I am not sure I can express enough how much I LOVE being a pet photographer. When I started my business, I was an “everything” photographer (weddings, seniors, families). On January 1, 2013, I kicked off my transition to being a pet exclusive photographer. When speaking to people, the best description (and I believe my husband deserves credit for it) is…”if you had heart trouble would you see a cardiologist or would you see a general practitioner”? Well it is true right? Technically what I am is a photographer that has a specialty in pets. Don’t get me wrong I have many friends that are wedding photographers, family photographers and others that split between pet photography and family photography. I truly love and respect them all. We all have to find the work that makes us get up every morning and makes our creative hearts flutter…and I found mine in animals. Animals have been my passion since I was a small child and that has never changed for one second.

I made the decision to specialize because for me this is not just about capturing a moment. For me animals bring me personal peace, calm, and they truly warm my heart.  I wanted to bring that same feeling and my vision of their pets into my clients homes by creating artistic, bold, dramatic, and timeless art. The goal for each of my sessions is to create beautiful art of my client's pet that is both unique and captures a memory.

Through specializing my business, it affords me the ability to focus my continued education- not only about photography but also the animals I photograph and how to make a session a fun experience for them. Your pet’s welfare and safety are my top priority during a session. I ensure that proper precautions are taken for your pet’s safety, from cleanliness of the studio environment to keeping extra leashes and collars on-hand. My constant focus is to improve the session experience for both you and your pet.

Before ending this post I would like to thank my Mom. Your inspiration, advice, animal knowledge, coaching, and continual encouragement have made a huge impact on me and my work. You are the reason that I am able to look into an animal’s eyes and make a connection with them to photograph their spirits.

For my Mom...not much has changed in over 40 years.

To my clients, thank you for entrusting me to photograph your pets. I am truly honored to meet every one of them.

New Year-New Services! http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2017/1/new-year-new-services After 8 years in business, 5 of it pet exclusive, I have had many request for family photos with their pets. I have always recommended those request to others photographers. However recently I had a friend/client say to me that she came to me personally for a reason....my ability to work with animals.

I don't want to create the standard family photos. What I am wanting to offer my clients in 2017 is something totally unique to their pets and them.

In 2017, I welcome a new session called "Pets and Their People".

This session will differ from our standard session with the goal of capturing the bond between the pets and their families. The "Pets and Their People" session will give clients both the formal studio portraits and the out and about on-location documentary style images too! Creating a set of images perfect for beautiful wall art for your home or to create a stunning leather bound keepsake album.

If you are interested in booking a "Pets and Their People" session for spring or have questions, contact us today. For our Chicago clients, we are booking our March dates now for the city. Please contact us if you would like to schedule, only 2 sessions available for March. I am hoping to schedule a weekend in St Louis in April...if you are located in St Louis area and interested contact me.

For information on all our 2017 session offerings please visit our session page.

Here is to a fresh start with the new year!

Looking Back and Moving Forward! http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2016/12/looking-back-and-moving-forward As every year comes to a close I like to stop and take a look back at all we accomplished before moving forward. I am proud to say that while 2016 was a beast of a year we managed to achieve some pretty amazing accomplishments. Looking back now and taking count of it all...I have to say HOLY SMOKES! We accomplished so much and I owe so much to my family, friends, mentors and my especially my clients who are always here to support me, give me that boost of encouragement and helping hand when I need it.

My son, my husband and a few friends that have helped assist me this year- I owe you a huge thank you for helping me, lugging gear, setting up and sometimes just grabbing me coffee, or making dinner.

This year I was so excited to capture nine stunning horses and one of those was even a mini! I can't thank this handful of owners enough. I just love every chance I have to work with these amazing creatures.

After the Cubbies win I got the odd call and had the honor of photographing two goats this year. Their names: Addison and Clark! This was another amazing experience and my first time photographing goats posed. A HUGE thank you to their owners!

My clients graced me with thirty-seven professional studio and on-location dog sessions this year. Sadly the only cat I got to photograph was my own however I will say I am pretty proud that after 15 years I finally got her to pose for treats.

I had to opportunity to photograph four liters of puppies.

I captured images for Commercial use for two local business clients. When it came to events I photographed eight of them this year and I had one speaking engagement/demonstration for a local camera club.

I also hit the studio with volunteer sighthounds for my Sighthound Project. In 2016 alone I captured forty-five sighthounds from all over Illinois and even one from Michigan!

My husband Chris worked hard on custom designs for fundraising coffee mugs for the project and I managed to get the 2017 Calendar out before the holidays arrived.

Along with the success of The Sighthound project, the most amazing thing happened. One of the images that started the whole thing...an image of Bunny of Tales and Tails was requested by Town and Country (UK) for publication in their Winter 2016 issue.

Another HUGE accomplishments this year was competing in print competition and having my work judged by my peers. I first competed at Districts and merited 4/4. From Districts my images went on to International Print Competition where the same four images were judged again and I was awarded a platinum medal. It was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to any photographer that wants to grow. Pay for the critique when you enter and listen to what the judges are telling you.

With 2016 being such an amazing year I can't wait to see what 2017 has in store. I know for The Sighthound Project, I will be looking at hosting a few very particular sessions (one including a custom collar coming from Bosnia) but for the most part my photography is complete. The project is now moving to opening the online gallery, locating an in person gallery to host an event and working on the book. As far as my personal photography business, I have goals set to continue to grow and personalize my services. Keep an eye out for the introduction of some new products and packages.

I hope you all have a Happy New Year! Again thank you all for your continued support and giving me the honor to photograph your pets. It truly warms my soul to meet and photograph each of them.

I'm looking forward to 2017 being AWESOME!

Angel

Sighthound Project- Whippets http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2015/10/whippets The Whippets have joined the Sighthound Project! This session was 4 beautiful girl Whippets. Indie being the eldest, Fling being mama, and the pups Remi and Dani. They had just finished up a dock diving match about 2 hours North and then came to see me. Can you believe Remi and Dani were still pumped and ready to play? Their Mom said they took a good nap on the drive down.

Like others, I found these pups through a friend of mine. My page was shared with the information about the project and next thing you knew we had a date. I was so excited to find so many pups in one home with a variety of ages. I also couldn't have been more impressed by Fling and Indie. These little ladies had some amazing manners and are just gorgeous subjects. Dani and Remi were still puppies but also had pretty decent manners for their age. I had such a fun time hanging out with them and their Mom. I would love to go watch them dive sometime.

Now a little about the breed:

"The elegant yet powerful Whippet was probably created some time in the late 18th century for use by poachers in search of rabbits and other small game, as well as in "snap" contests, in which the goal was for the dog to snap up rabbits in a circle. They really came into their own, however, when it was discovered that they would chase a waving rag, and Whippet racing became popular among working class men.

This medium-size hound has a short, dense coat in a variety of colors and markings covering a streamlined body. The Whippet is not a miniature Greyhound but was developed by crossing Greyhounds with smaller terriers and, later, Italian Greyhounds. The result was a sleek and beautiful dog who's gentle and affectionate." (From:  http://dogtime.com)

Again, if you have one of the not so common Sighthound breeds and you live in Illinois or you are willing to travel please contact me at angel@sallade.net.

I hope you enjoy these photos of Indie, Fling, Remi and Dani!

Sighthound Project- Salukis http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2015/8/the-sighthound-project--zeke-and-zephyr--salukis We have another breed in the Sighthound Project! This session was the Salukis, two older boys. Like Dahi's session, due to the heat we opted to hold off on our outdoor session but we did manage to capture some great in-studio shots.

I found Zeke and Zephyr through a client and friend of mine. She had seen their parents walking them in the evenings in their neighborhood and offered to reach out to them about the project. Due to the size of this project, I never turn down free assistance! Next thing I knew I was emailing back and forth with Zeke and Zephyr's Mom about the session and planning a date.

When they showed up at my home studio, I was pleased that they were so excited to be here and they were very eager to work. Zeke and Zephyr and beautiful examples of their breed in their later years of life. Two healthy, handsome Saluki boys that are still more than willing to play or just lay around...they leave it totally up to you.

Now a little about the breed:

One of the oldest of dog breeds , Salukis were once considered a gift from Allah. The breed is fast as the wind, have a very petite frame, and they are quietly devoted to their people. They are bred for speed, strength, and endurance. These are qualities that are evident in their  long, narrow head and sleek yet muscular body. Salukis are widely admired for their exotic appearance, but not everyone is well suited to live with this spirited and independent hunter. Any movement, be it a squirrel, cat, or radio-controlled car, will activate the Saluki's instinct to chase, and his speed has been clocked at 30 to 35 miles per hour. (some of this is quoted from Dogtime.com)

Again, if you have one of the not so common Sighthound breeds and you live in Illinois or you are willing to travel please contact me at angel@sallade.net.

I hope you enjoy these photos of Zeke and Zephyr! Keep and eye out for all of the Sighthound models outdoor sessions coming soon!

Sighthound Project- Sloughi http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2015/7/sighthound-project--sloughi The Sighthound Project is moving forward! When I put out the first post explaining the project I received an amazing response from all over the country. I truly can't thank you all enough for your continued support! I'm still working to schedule folks. My hope is to work with local dogs and owners first. If you email me about participating and are located out of state, please note if you are willing to travel to Illinois.

When I received all those emails, the rare Sloughi was the last breed I really expected to see. I was so thrilled and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't lose track of Dahi and his Mom so I got them on my calendar ASAP! It was hot outside the day of the session and we decided it best to give Dahi time to warm up to me so we stuck with just capturing studio shots for now. I have a vision- something special for this amazing boy, when the time comes for Dahi's outdoor session.

Now a little about the breed:

The Sloughi is a medium-large, short-haired, smooth-coated, athletic Sighthound from North Africa (they can be found in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya). The breed is used to hunt game such as hare, gazelle, and wild pigs. The Sloughi is considered to be one of the ancient breeds, and it is treasured for its hunting skills, speed, agility, and endurance over long distances. The Sloughi is a dog with elegance, class and grace. They are noble and a little aloof, yet carry a gentle expression.

As I capture subjects for my project it seems as though my interest in the Sighthounds only continues to grow. I am looking forward to my next subject this coming weekend, Salukis.

Again, if you have of the not so common Sighthound breeds and you live in Illinois or you are willing to travel please contact me at angel@sallade.net.

I hope you enjoy these photos of Dahi as much as I enjoyed taking them.

The Sighthound Project http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2015/6/the-sighthound-project I am really excited, the reason for my excitement is that I am embarking on a personal project. I love personal projects because they lead me on an adventure where I get to meet new people, new dog breeds, learn new things and in the end of this one hopefully make a nice donation to rescue group (maybe 2) that focus on a Sighthound Breed. The first group that has been identified is ReGap (Retired Greyhounds as Pets).

You may ask, why Sighthounds. Have you met one? Or spent time with one? Their every movement is artistic. They pose like models without even knowing it. These breeds are also some of the sweetest, most loving gentle and patient pups I have ever met.

Flattery of Tales and Tails Blog

Back to the project nuts and bolts:

The project entails capturing Sighthound breeds of course. Most of us know the Greyhound, Italian Greyhound, Irish Wolfhound but I hope to dive deeper. I want to bring out some of the other Sighthounds that are less common like the Deerhounds, Afghans, Salukis, Pharaoh Hounds and more.

Elsa- Irish Wolfhound puppy

My primary goal is to capture images of them that highlight their natural beauty and form. Some of the images will be taken in studio and some will be taken outdoors.

The second step is to take the best of the best, have them printed in a few mediums and find a local gallery to host a public showing, dog friendly of course. Images at the show available for purchase as well as a few other print items.

Bunny of Tales and Tails Blog

The last and final step is to take a percentage of all the proceeds from the sales and donate it to a rescue that focuses on helping these beautiful creatures find a loving home once they are retire.

Mr Oscar Goldman- Ibizan Hound

My last request is for you…Can you help me make this project a reality? If you have one of the rare breeds, contact me at angel@sallade.net and I will share further details with you and get some information from you about your dog. Please include a photo of your dog in your email, keep in mind this is Sighthounds only! (ie. Afghan Hound, Azawakh, Borzoi, Chart Polski, Galgo Español, Greyhound, Irish Wolfhound, Italian Greyhound, Saluki, Scottish Deerhound, Silken Windhound, Sloughi, Whippet, Basenji, Ibizan Hound)

Each owner will receive a free 8x10 of their dog and an online gallery from the session.

Thanks to ReGap and its followers I have all variations of Grey’s covered, Ibizan’s have been captured, Irish Wolfhound is covered also, and I am working at this time on scheduling Salukis.

Khyot & Nessa- Senior Borzoi

Do you know of a gallery or space that would host this showing? Dog Friendly? angel@sallade.net

My goal for the showing would be early 2016. The date depends on scheduling of shoots and cost of printing images for display…unless I find sponsors. Who knows, we may even find a Sighthound coffee table book in this adventure.

Rock the Shot Photo Challenge- Friendship http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2015/2/rock-the-shot-photo-challenge--friendship I decided to enter into the Facebook page Rock the Shots monthly photo challenge and this month's theme is "Friendship". When I think about my images and friendship, the first one that comes to mind is the photo of my parents Great Danes. After raising almost a full liter of pups and their parents together on their property, it was no surprise that SJ and Goldie would form a bond together in their later years.

In this photo SJ and Goldie are 10 years old, they are the final two of my parents Danes. Sadly Goldie passed away about 4 months after this photo was taken. SJ however is nearing his 11th birthday this year. Being the final two, I really wanted to photograph them for my parents. I wanted to give them those memories.

My Mom was taking them out for their afternoon walk so I ran out with my camera. I didn't stop to think about the fact that it was the middle of the summer in Louisiana...it was so bright out and overcast. Lucky for me, my mom loves her plants and trees. We took SJ and Goldie to this young oak tree out on their property and took these shots. This image was the first shot of the group...two old friends, sharing a moment under a shade tree on a hot Louisiana summer day.

Thank You Part 2 http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2015/1/thank-you-part-2 I was looking through my 2014 Session Folder this morning and revisiting some of these sessions....the laughs, the tears, the new/old friends.

Tucker has been modeling for me for a really long time...you just might say he was the first dog outside my home to be officially referred to as a "model" dog. With that history between us, it was only fitting that he be the model for my first attempt at shooting sunset from the hill. This location gave me so many great shots this year. Tucker's mom Karley has been assisting me occasionally on shoots for several years now after we met through rescue work.

Ruby's brother Finn has been modeling for me for almost a year. When Ruby joined the family I couldn't resist capturing her adorable fluffiness! Finnegan is a beautiful red Cardigan Corgi show dog and Ruby is planning to follow in his footsteps. Their mom Krystal also has assisted me for a couple of sessions/events this year.

I have been working with different rescue groups for years. Rescue photography certainly has it's challenges but it is so rewarding at the same time. There is no better feeling then knowing that your work helped find a dog or cat their forever home.

Justice...there is so much to say about this handsome mug. This big guy has a special place in my heart. He has been a client and now he models for me anytime I need a stand in dog to test and idea or to take a silly picture that most others wouldn't have the patience for. Justice is a dog that people can be proud of, a dog that went from unwanted in an Illinois shelter, to living months at a local day care- waiting for a permanent home, now he is a dog with a loving home and a purpose. Justice is a therapy dog that visits patients in the hospital, nursing home, college students at finals crunch time. His personality just brings calm to everyone who meets him. I am proud to be his friend and photographer.

Oh the sunset fun we had on the hill this year. I can't wait to go back at the first sign on green grass!

This session really touched my heart. Two basset girls- one younger, one older. Lucy the older girl had cancer so this shoot was to capture her and her sister to create memorable images for her family. The bottom image I think was one of the best captures from this session. This shot is Lucy giving her Mom a kiss as her Mom was trying to adjust her position. The love and bond in this image brought tears to my eyes a week after it was taken when Lucy's Mom sent me a message saying she had passed away. This top image is Bea, she and I became best friends. I try and meet up with her and her Mom from time to time just so Bea and I can play. Over time she has become an old pro at this photography thing and is a great subject to photograph.

Over 2014 I brought some of the softer lighting techniques that I use to use with humans over to pets and I have loved the results. I also introduced bubbles this year leading to some fun images.

I wasn't sure what to think at first...I grew up around horses and when George's Mom told me he was 28 years old, I had concerns about how aged he would look and how would be the best way to truly capture him. When I arrived at the stable, I had some trouble with the front gate so George and his Mom came strolling up to help. I thought to myself this can't be the 28 year old horse. Sure enough, as I got out of the car I was introduced to George. George and his Mom have been together since she was a little girl. He is a retired race horse, turned show jump horse, and now living the retired life. George at time during the session was a little grumpy, but at his age he really has every right to be.

I can't wait to see what 2015 brings! I know I get to start January with an older horse and Ibizan hounds, I am so exited for both of these sessions!

Thank you for trusting me to capture your fur babies.

A Huge Thank You! Part 1 http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2015/1/a-huge-thank-you-part-1 Now that 2014 is done and we are at the beginning of 2015, I took a moment to slow my pace and reflect on the year. I have to say WOW! I can't thank all of you enough for the continued support and love you have shown me. Angel Sallade Photography has grown this year in many ways.

We have made new friends in the rescue community, adding shoots this year with HSCI, GABR (Guardian Angel Basset Rescue), Illinois Saint Bernard Rescue (ISBR), and ARROW.

  • Who can forget GABR's Basset Waddle this year. I met some great people there and photographed some beautiful Bassets.
  • It was an honor to attend the Hero Dog's with board members of HSCI. The highlight was meeting former HSCI rescue dog Kai who is now an Arson Dog in Texas. It was also a pleasure to meet and speak with Victoria Stillwell about my mother's deaf boxer.
  • I took an amazing journey to Chicago with a dear friend who is also ISBR's President for an Saint reunion. The dog's involved had all been rescued from the same person at different times. Many of these Saints were related in some way. It was amazing to see so many of them in the same location.

I also managed to get an agent in London and now work with them to market my work with pet's commercially. This was a huge accomplishment for me. I owe a huge thanks to friend and fellow photographer Scott Harrison for helping me establish this relationship and giving me the kick I needed to finally get out there.

Some of my work was also reviewed by a greeting card company this year. They currently have one of my squirrel images still going through their process. You can bet that once the card is out I will be going to get my own copies.

In 2014, I have also maintained a working relationship with AEC (Animal Emergency Clinic) and Canine Blood Bank, photographing several of their amazing staff and pets this year. They are a group of wonderful people that truly care about your pet and you and they will help you through any crisis your pet is having during off hours.

A special thank you to the staff at SmartVet. You ladies take great care of my boys and continue to support my business which means the world to me. THANK YOU! I love all of you and your furry babies! If you are looking for a new vet, you must check out Dr Walters and Dr Burks, brilliant vets with such a great staff!

I made new friends this year and I can't say enough good about The Urban Carnivore Proactive Health Center. I have learned so much about dog food and holistic pet care from Kathy, Sally and the many professionals they host there. These ladies are just the best and you can learn so much from them.

  • Urban Carnivore took me to my first dog show here in McLean County. This was a new experience and of course I was like a kid in a candy store with all the dogs there.
  • Kathy and Sally also hosted photo days several times this year with me and we are planning for another soon.

Earlier this year I met with Lisa from Kudos for Canines who taught me a bit about subtle stress cues of a dog. This conversation and new-found friendship was a big key in helping me move my business forward this year. These conversations continued with Lisa and with other animal behaviorist in our community like Sally from Urban Carnivore and Stephenie from Creations Dog Training. I have to admit, many clients that came to see me this year played a huge part as well. Many of them were members of TCKC (Town and Country Kennel Club) as well as pet parents that compete in the dog show arena, agility trials, and rally.

I also can't forget the Therapy Dog's of Bloomington, IL.  Several of these pups were clients this year and some were models for my commercial work as well. These dogs are making a difference for patients in the local hospitals/nursing homes all over McLean County and from them I have learn quite a bit about dog behavior. From the therapy dog owners I have learned so much about handling, a dog's response to certain stressors and behaviors.

In 2014, I had the honor to work with over 135 pets. This number does not include all the dog/cat models or event photos I did this year. This number is purely my clients- many new and some returning with new puppies. It truly was an amazing year and I could never accomplish this all without your continued love and support. I can't say it enough but THANK YOU to my clients, friends, family, and followers. I promise that it just keeps getting better in 2015- I will continue to develop my photography skills, bring in new props, find new locations and always continue to learn more about animal behavior.

Part 2 of this post will be later this afternoon, I'll revisit some of my favorite shots captured this year. For now I'll just say Happy New Year and again THANK YOU ALL!

Kira and Zephyr http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2014/8/kira-and-zephyr Normally when I work with puppies, I expect the shoot to take a while because most of the time we are working to wear them out before we can get shot of them sitting still. Kira and Zephyr proved me completely wrong! These two girls are very well trained already. I was very impressed at how well they sat for photos and how long they stayed engaged with me during our shoot. Of course we took breaks for little Zephyr to try and stick her head into a ground squirrel hole or two.

These two gorgeous little girls both were adopted through different rescue groups and now have a wonderful family that loves them. It was so much fun to work with these smart little girls. I really hope I get to see them again as they grow up. I am really curious to see how they turn out as adults because they certainly are fantastic pups.

Enjoy!

Miss Ruby http://www.angelsallade.com/blog/2014/8/miss-ruby Miss Ruby is a super sweet little pup. She was born in a rescue and when her Mom saw her image online she knew she had to have her. That was quite a while ago and these two ladies have been together through many adventures.

Ruby was a little shy at first when she came in but she quickly got over that and got down to business. This little lady is quite the poser. I was pleasantly surprised when I was looking back over her images and saw all her slight shifts of her body and head for the camera.

I am looking forward to getting back together with Ruby and her Mom soon for the outdoor portion of her session. The plan is for a sunset session, and I can't wait! I know Ruby will look awesome with a gorgeous sunset behind her.

Enjoy!
